Quirky Christmas

With everything going on I don't think I will be able to get my Christmas tree this year which is at my parents house, so I decided to make one!

I made a basic shape out of foil and put papier mache over this. Once dry I glued some dowel in the base which made it easier to paint with Pebeo Dyna Blue Green Paint (I love this colour). I painted a papier mache plant pot to put it in. Inside I added some clay and glued the stick in and covered it in little stones which I added some purple glitter on top! I am loving my tiny Christmas Tree.

Skeleton Leaf Embossing

I have been thinking about this for a while and finally got around to doing it, dusting off those skeleton leaves and heat embossing them.

I pressed the skeleton leaves into an embossing  pad and then covered the large leaves into Wow Embossing Pacific Wave and the the smaller with Wow Embossing verdigris and heat set them. Even the close up photos doesn't really do them justice with how fab they are.

I have made a journal page with these, attaching the large leaf to a piece of text which is then glued to a gelli print whilst the small leaf sat half under this. Some trees were stamped and embossed with white and I printed out the Explore Nature.

Steampunk Christmas

I decided to do a slightly different type of Christmas Card, a steampunk card!. I saw the numbers on the stencil and thought Christmas!

I have put black embossing paste through the stencil and then added Wow Embossing powder in gold over the top. This was then  heated to make a great textured piece with a sentiment added to finish it off!

Steampunk Octopus Canvas

It is the 1st and that means a new challenge at Steampunk  Challenge Blog. This months theme is Make an Art Canvas and include Cardboard! Do come along and join in the fun, we have prizes each month for the lucky winner!

For my DT project I have made this canvas using an Octopus and fish from the beautiful Stamperia Mould. I have also used some wooden embellishments, and a star from a mould. I have also done some stamping around the edge and finally placed upon a piece of cardboard glued on a wooden art canvas!

Here is a journal page using one of my favourite techniques, ink smooshing, got to love a good smoosh.  I have ink smooshed and then done so...
