Starry Skull

Wow, two posts in two days. Not sure I can keep up this pace but would love to try and keep up blogging more. I have a postcard size project today.

I started off by embossing a piece of card in a star embossing folder and then using a corner punch rounded the corners. I then lightly rubbed over the stars with memento nautical blue ink pad using a blending tool and around the edge. Stickles starry night was then applied over the top and around the edges.

Meanwhile I stamped the skull stamp from Visible Image Mr Bonejangles on a piece of white paper using archival shadow grey and memento london fog ink pads. These were then cut out and stuck along middle of the card.

The Scrappy Gent

Hello All, I have a project today using some of my scraps of mountboard and papers, Mark Gould's The Gent stamp (which can be purchased here) and some words from Mixed up Magazine.

I took an old piece of packaging and glued some scraps of mountboard onto it and filled in any gaps with scraps of papers.

Once this was dry I took an off cut of black card, stamped The Gent and embossed with white embossing powder.

I then attached this to the board with foam tape and glued the words on the bottom.

I enjoyed this project and found it a great way to start using up many of my scraps.

I am entering this into the Craft Stamper Anything Goes challenge

Until next time

Weird and Wonderful

Welcome to this weird and wonderful canvas creation. This just popped into my head and wouldn't leave me alone until I had made it.

I took a 6x6 canvas and added brushos (forgot to take note of the colours) and silver dream pixie powders to it, spritzed with water and left to dry naturally.

I painted two heart with wings mdf shapes with a crimson and linen acrylic paints, giving them two coats and left these to dry.

I attached some eyes to cogs from Fernli Designs using glossy accents and left to dry.

After everything dried I messed around with the composition and when happy with it, attached everything to the canvas.

I really enjoyed making this and would like to try and do more 3d work not just journaling or cards. This project really sparked my imagination.

Until next time

Here is a journal page using one of my favourite techniques, ink smooshing, got to love a good smoosh.  I have ink smooshed and then done so...
